This summer I visited The Met with my friend (and poet) Lachlan Brooks, to see the exhibition titled: Juan de Pareja, Afro-Hispanic Painter.The fascinating story of Juan de Pareja inspired me to write to about ways an artist’s style can be influenced through life experiences.
