Plastic Painting
Trans Hudson Gallery
New York, NY (1999)

An exhibition entitled “Plastic Painting” appeared in 1999 at the Trans Hudson Gallery, New York NY. It was the fourth exhibition of this body of work, a continuation of the exploration which began in Budapest at the Fine Arts Academy in 1997. In the previous year’s exhibition, the networks of fissures and perforations that comprise these works shifted outside of a rectangular canvas altogether and became seemingly cracks in the walls. “Plastic Painting” continues this shift, with the work becoming more self-contained, even as it speaks to the architecture of the space.
