From the Brush to the Camera
Collegium Hungaricum Berlin
Berlin, Germany (2019)

George Peck’s  – MC / a kit –  appeared in the exhibition “From the Brush to the Camera” at the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin from September 12th to October 18th, 2019. The exhibition, curated by Katalin T. Nagy, focused on the early works of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, and included the work of a select group of contemporary artists. George Peck’s work – MC / a kit – was developed especially for the exhibition.

Peck’s “kit” project relates in particular to the three Telephone Pictures of Moholy-Nagy from 1923, which were ordered over the phone from a sign maker. In turn, the installation – MC / a kit – can be ordered in multiple sizes and comes with instructions for assembly. Its structural configuration comes from a painting of Peck’s from 1968, which reflected on the Bauhaus and beyond.

Below are images of – MC / a kit – installed in on site in Berlin and in Peck’s studio.
